BIG NEWS! BIG AD! LITTLE CHANGE, LITTLE VALUE. The near useless medical board is desperate for recognition and relevance so IT CHANGED IT’S name by stepping away from the BIOMECHQUATIC so called ORTHOPEDIC title. IT DROPPED ORTHOPEDICS! Most podiatrists know that, in podiatry, ORTHOPEDICS means ORTHOTICS, BIOMECHQUATICS AND SHOES. So, instead of being the useless, MOUTHFUL, AMERICAN COLLEGE OF FOOT AND ANKLE AND ORTHOPEDIC “medicine” they shaved it down to the AMERIAN COLLEGE OF PODIATRIC MEDICINE. Yup, all 20 local NON systemic “medical” conditions. Wow, can you imagine the money to be made when they PRINT THE NEW CERTIFICATES AND…Read more »

I guess people see things differently for at least 2 reasons. One is the basic hard wiring in the brain, and the other is cultural and historically experiences that interpret the event. Barry Block and lifers see podiatry in positive glowing terms. I see podiatry as a cover up for a business guised as medicine. Barry Block’s evidence to support his view is his fattening bank account that fills with money if he presents podiatry positively. Here’s what I see. I see a child with a STETHOSCOPE around his neck and a white coat who’s in foot college NOT medical…Read more »

I wonder if Earl Boots Horowitts body was donated to a medical school for use as a cadaver. They could study how his brain thinked. Or should I say “not thinked”. Who in the world continues to do c & c work and laser therapy at 87 years of age? A pody whose brain does not think.

RUSH IS RIGHT! It won’t surprise most of you that I’m a RUSH LIMBAUGH fan and today he made one of the most cogent explanations of political function I’ve ever heard. Though he was talking about the liberals in the Democratic party the parallel to the liberal APMA “leaders” was unmistakable. Maybe Rush is reading the PODIARY POST?! After 40 years of WAITING for the APMA and school administrators to DO SOMETHING, becoming frustrated and angry, I could never understand WHY NO ONE DOES ANYTHING and podiatry remains essentially where it was a half century ago. Even with fish tanks, shoe and arch support sales, and practice management bilking tricks podiatrists fall BELOW NURSE anesthetists and are very close to pharmacists and optometrist’s wages. They also have so called doctors degrees that, like podiatrists, aren’t actual doctors. Though it didn’t say, the 148 grand pods make could be GROSS. If so, then the net is about 80. That’s teacher wages. No wonder pods obsess about money. They need to. With Barry Block, desperate for something good to write about, he could only come up with TOENAIL ADVICE FROM A U.K. chiropodist, print the 100 th. story…Read more »

What kind of girly-men, pajama boy, insecure’s look for a job? Perhaps its a function of my era but INDEPENDENDENCE was a large part of going into podiatry. Many “jobs” are an attempt to get cheap help fill a satellite office so business doesn’t go elsewhere but the owners pocket. Other “jobs” are designed to lock a person in and hopefully have a built in buyer (retirement funder). While expedient, the NO BRAINER employment route is the easy back door way. I believe the most satisfying and profitable route in the long run is to do it on your own.…Read more »
